| * Prepare for pattern making based on the tech pack * Use tools and materials to create patterns on a non-textile surface, such as hard paper board * Ensure the pattern is accurate * Keep the work area, tools, and equipment in good condition * Use basic tools to measure, mark, and cut patterns * Make and fit sample garments to test the patterns * Examine sketches and design specifications to determine the quantities, shapes, and sizes of pattern parts * Determine the best layout of pattern pieces to minimize waste * Create design specifications to provide instructions on sewing and assembly * Pattern masters may also work with computer software to design, input data, and manage approvals |
